Some say the reason it's a mecca is the altitude. But I never used that in my prime. I think there's a little more mythology to that than reality.

We had plenty of altitude heading over the pass, but then we lost altitude quite rapidly. Brooks did whatever he did to maintain altitude. He tried to do whatever he could to pull up.

For some people, it's a mecca, an annual mecca to see the eagles. It's a phenomenon.

Maybe it's because of Boeing. Maybe it's because people here have a technical bent. Or maybe it's because it's just plain fun. Whatever the reason, Seattle is a mecca for modeling.

So really, I think they are being humanely treated when one considers the circumstances under which they were captured.

The reason to drive this point home with a vivid and frank comparison is many New Yorkers are still not confronting the reality of how serious our crisis is. It was an exhortation to face reality.

In my mind, its about 25 percent physical fitness, 25 percent mental grit and 50 percent just staying healthy in the altitude. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. The altitude is the biggest concern.

The altitude is going to be a factor in the sense that physiologically it will affect but it's going to affect all of the teams. The way you handle that is what's important. We're going to go out and we're going to play hard. We're going to do what we can to prepare for the altitude but then we're going to go out and play the ball game and not even think about it.
