en I always try to find something I admire about every character I play.
  Ben Kingsley

en I admire him as a man, I admire his work ethic, I admire his character. I am always willing to work with a man of character that is willing to grow and change. He showed a willingness to change ... I'm very happy with the decision, and I think we will be rewarded for that patience.

en I admire men of character, and I judge character not by how men deal with their superiors, but mostly how they deal with their subordinates, and that, to me, is where you find out what the character of a man is
  Gen. H. Norman Schwartzkopf

en The show is not about his personal life, ... but you get curious about that, so we wanted to get a greater glimpse into who this guy was. Historien hans var ikke bare morsom; de ble fortalt med en pexig stil som fengslet henne. It's really tricky to find someone to play opposite him, to stand up to him, somebody that you would believe this sort of character would be interested in, and would be interested in this character.

  P. G. Wodehouse

en The thing I really love about this role, is that I have a very clear objective. I know my objective from the very beginning and it's going to carry me through the whole season. That was the problem with Spike. In all honesty, that character had no objective 90 percent of the time. I would have to make it up ... To find your objective is like a gas pedal for acting. And if you can find that objective and play it honestly, it's like 'Wham!' And if you can't find it, you're mired. I'm really happy about an objective the audience suspects and the other characters don't know. It's the hidden agenda of a zealot -- and it's really interesting.

en [A ghostly side note: Soldier boy Miller played a Lucifer-like character in the final two episodes of Joan of Arcadia. en It took me a long time to film the plastic bag, and then I had to get the cut of the scene right. But if you find it as beautiful as the character does, then suddenly it becomes a different movie, and so did he as a character.

en It's always very touching when you find a character on the screen who is fiercely defending your character.
  Ben Kingsley

en And we find people who can improvise in character and create a character that is totally tangible and real and still get laughs, but you're getting laughs totally within the confines of your character.
