The last time I ordsprog

en The last time I checked, we were one of two schools ... that had played against five top 50 teams in the country. The RPI that they're using for the NCAA tournament is largely based on strength of schedule and we were fourth out of 330 teams, so we've absolutely been tested.

en We're in a great position. We have played four teams in our league so far that I think are going to be NCAA Tournament teams. Now we need to take care of the middle of our schedule here.

en Strength of schedule, ... To make it into the tournament today, you need a strong strength of schedule. Playing teams that you can beat up on 6, 7-0 will not do us any favors come clutch time.

en I think we are in. There are not a whole of teams that can say they played our schedule. Our RPI has been high all year, even when we weren't ranked. That's what the NCAA wants, for teams to go and play a tough schedule. That's what the NCAA wants, for teams to go and play a tough schedule.

en Western Kentucky really didn't present the committee with the strength of schedule that we were looking for. They played four games in the top 50. Again, it was very, very tough. They received a great deal of consideration. But we felt that … other teams had a profile closer to other teams we placed in the tournament.

en There's not a lot of teams around the state of Illinois that can say they have that type schedule left. We have it (tough schedule) for a reason. We want to be tournament tested and tournament ready.

en We have to remember that we were 12-7-2 last year, not 17-3-1. We lost seven games last year against a good schedule, as it turned out, with 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. We went 6-6 against those 12 teams, so we need to be better than that. That's the challenge before the players. We just had a good year. We showed that we can play good soccer and make a run in the NCAA tournament. Now are we going to be able to reproduce the same kind of effort?

en Both of these teams are trying to be one of the 12 that go to the Big East Tournament. That is a different kind of pressure than most teams in any league in this country face. ... Twelve teams are going. There is nothing easy on our schedule, and you have to win home games.

Now, you have to play well there to help your chances.

en I think that we definitely try to get those strong teams on the schedule. It's a hard concept. I think sometimes your strength of schedule can help you or hurt you.
