His teams have focused ordsprog

en His teams have focused more on ball control than on transition. They're going to work hard on the defensive end. They're very similar to his teams at Pitt, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that.

en They have the same philosophy that we do - everything starts on the defensive end. They really get out and guard you, similar to us. It's going to be a competitive game. Both teams are going to have to work really hard for points.

en I thought both teams played hard. We had pass plays this time I was proud with. These two teams have a similar style of just trying to pound the ball.

en This was a defensive battle between two teams that pride themselves in defense. There weren't many open shots, and there weren't any transition baskets. And both teams, because of the defensive intensity, had trouble finding a rhythm.

en I think our defense will be tested, no question. I think our offense is going to be tested. You have to be a good defensive team to win, don't get me wrong. I don't think non-defensive teams are going to win national championship. I don't think non-defensive teams are going to win the Big East championship.

en They got a lot of threes in transition (last time) so we focused on that today. Our biggest thing was stopping the ball and not letting them penetrate and kick out for three's. We got a lot of stops on the defensive end and that created a lot of transition buckets for us.

en They are all really strong, fast teams, and they work hard just like we do. I'd rather be playing the three toughest teams than the three easiest teams.

en It was very similar to what our teams at Florida, Duke and the Tampa Bay Bandits [did], ... Those are the three teams where I've been fortunate to be head coach. So this was a very similar type practice.

en It was a great defensive effort by both teams. Both teams played really hard and aggressive and we were fortunate enough to beat a good team on the road.

en His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.

en It was just a hard-fought game, close all the way. Both teams put a lot of pressure on the ball, both teams really went to the boards hard ... we were just fortunate and made a couple more plays than they did.

en Those differences in style are differences only on the surface. I think, if you go a layer below, that they're very, very similar. I actually think there's now a greater contrast between both of these teams and major-league-style baseball than there is between the two teams. Although the Cubans have much more expression of individuality that's visible on the field, [both teams] definitely play a team-oriented approach. They play the same kind of small ball. They manufacture runs. You've seen it in this tournament, in all the games they've won.

en We know we have a target on our back, but we haven't played some of the tougher teams like Connecticut, Pitt and Notre Dame. They are pretty good teams. We will see after we play them.

en If we can work our way to the postseason and get another championship, I think then we can at least be mentioned with the great Steelers teams of the '70s and the Cowboys teams [of the early '90s]. Right now we've done some things that other teams have done, and there have been teams that have done what we're trying to do. We're just trying to get on the same level as them.

en It's hard to predict what the other teams are going to do, we just have to continue to do the best we can do and work on fine-tuning things we need to work on. There are still quite a bit of balanced teams out there.
