What's gone away from the tight end position is the blocking. Blocking isn't as important with the tight end.

en There is natural ability and there is skill. There is an art to pitching. It's a skill position. It's not easy to throw quality pitches. It's not easy to throw the ball where you want to when you have that kind of velocity and that kind of movement. en Coach Pitts takes those guys who were former fullbacks and skill position players and gives them their own identity. We have a history of good defensive linemen here. Kids realize they can get in school somewhere if they give it a try.
