en I thought the workout went well. There was a lot of enthusiasm, and the kids were having fun, although you could see them start dragging a little bit at the end because they're not used to carrying their pads. But it was a great first day.

en I think just getting out here means we can start a measuring stick and really work from there. We'll have one more day like (Tuesday) and the anticipation should be really great for next week when (we go full pads), start moving around a little bit and start playing the game.

en It's great to see. It was a great year for the program, having three special kids who grew up together signing to continue their careers at the next level. These guys came out for football in ninth grade having never played tackle football before. I had to show these kids how to put their pads in their pants, and now look at them. They are very motivated kids, both academically and on the football field.

en This start is great for the kids, the coaching staff and the community. I thought we had the potential. The kids have really come around.

en I thought we played well, it was great to get all three pitchers a start and get some innings. Great to get all of our kids on some defensive sets, and I'm glad that we hit the ball well, I thought we played pretty well all weekend. It was nice to get some games.

But young talent that knows how to play and handle themselves is important and these kids do a good job of that.
