I just told the guys yesterday, you want to win the whole thing you've got to beat everybody. We just have to play them earlier. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.

Coach told us to come in and play well on our home floor. Teams that you're supposed to beat, you've got to beat them. That's what we did tonight. At the same time, having a big lead and guys having the opportunity to rest was big also.

The only thing I told him [earlier this season] was, 'I like the play I called, so if you change it, your play has to work. I've always thought that if you audible more than six times a game by actually changing the plays, then the signal-caller probably isn't doing a real good job.

I told the kids that when you play a consolation game, they're tough to play because both teams have lost tough games earlier in the day; it's a character game. Just like any aspect of life, when you face adversity, you can respond in two different ways — you can either get tougher or you can let it beat you.

I did the same thing earlier this year. But you can't beat yourself up over it. If you, as a coach, have a bad feeling about what's going on out there, and you don't call timeout and something beats you, that's when you beat yourself up, and you probably deserve it then.

We all worked hard in camp, but when you get in games, it's a little different. We're not going to beat our guys up. We were all part of this deal. We'll watch tape tomorrow (Sunday) and see what happens. The big thing we told the guys was they had to stay together ... we're just going to roll our sleeves up and work. Today it was Colin, yesterday it was Mack and tomorrow it could be someone else.

As I told Ryan earlier today, Brandon Watson just beat him out. Pure and simple, he beat him out on the baseball field. ... You can't ask [Watson] to do any more than he's done in this spring training.

Most teams have one All-Star, whether that guy made it this year or earlier in his career, and some teams have two All-Stars. What they're showing is that a group of five guys that play together and play hard will always beat a team with two All-Stars and three average players.

I told our guys, there's no pressure on us. They're [Elkins] supposed to beat us. They're the No. 2 team. We're just going to play and hopefully we can hold them up and come out with a win.

I told the guys this was a pivotal game. If we beat them, we're tied with them and they have to play Auburn next week.

We played with much better energy than yesterday. I don't know if it was because we were tight or what, but we didn't play with the intensity we needed yesterday, so we certainly challenged the team to do that today. Everyone stepped up and we had much better at bats. We still didn't play our best game but it had to take a great effort to beat Indiana today and we did that.

Just play every play. Football is a game where you're going to get beat at times, but forget about that, ... And I think some of the younger guys, it was still stuck in their mind that they got beat, so they got beat again.
