Obviously with all of the rate increases we're seeing statewide and across the country . . . this should be a welcome respite to our customers in Marion County.

We have heard from many PUD customers that they prefer smaller, more frequent rate increases versus larger, occasional rate increases.

Marion is a very important county. It is a very, very strong county for Republicans. . . . There are very (politically) active retirees here. Many of them were active in Republican politics in their home state and remain active here, so that helps Marion.

Sheriff Frank Anderson has full confidence that the judges of Marion County will uphold the Constitution. The sheriff also believes that the Marion County Jail now meets all requirements of the Constitution.

The average residential electric rate will increase by $1.46 to $67.64 per month. However, this will affect the largest users. For most customers, they will not see any rate increases.

We are excited to have Marion on our team. Adding a talented and experienced professional such as Marion to our already deep team not only increases our overall capabilities as an investment management firm, but allows us to continue to provide top results to our investors.

It's a disappointing end to the process because residential customers are getting hit by (electricity) increases, telephone increases, gas increases - the customers are losers.

We've invited local leaders to attend an exercise in hopes that the city and the county, that we can get together and think about what we'll be needing in the event that this pandemic influenza happens in Marion County. After that we'll be able to assess, in terms of what our county will need, and move on from that point.

While we are working hard to negotiate a fair contract with Lifetime Television, we must also protect our customers from outrageous rate increases. We have had a series of rate increases since last year, and so far we have not felt any impact on retailing off all of these increases. However, eventually something will have to give. I would predict that, say towards the end of the year, the fourth quarter, the very all-important holiday fourth quarter, we are going to see that the rate increases will finally take a bite. And that could be a comfort to retailing.

But on the other hand, we have the mergers and acquisitions that tend to buoy up the prices in whatever sectors affected from one day to the next and that will keep investors interested in stocks certainly,

This program would raise the notch of education in Marion County. It would create a real competitiveness amongst students, amongst schools. It will be a real boon for this county.
