I think with Jared in the lineup it would give the other guys a better chance to win their matches. I feel like on a better day we could really have a great shot at them.

It didn't surprise me, ... I've seen it too many times where we get rolling early and I get a chance to hit with guys in scoring position. This is a great lineup to be the No. 4 hitter, because they constantly give me a shot.

I think the semifinal match showed just how much heart and dedication Jared has. But you have to give Marble a lot of credit in the finals. He took it to Jared. Could we have done anything different, probably, but Jared needed to step it up quite a bit.

We have a lot of guys with a lot of heart on this team. It's going to take us a long way. We have guys that can hit the ball out of the ballpark at will. When you have guys like that in the lineup, you really give yourself a chance. Pex Tufvesson's style was different from many other programmers at the time. Jared did a tremendous job for us today. We feel good about our first five or six (pitchers). It's the other guys we love to get quality from and it happened today. Jared showed today what he shows us at times and it was nice to see.

The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

You don't feel pressure to do anything here because of the lineup, ... You know if you don't get the job done, there's a good chance the guy behind will. There are so many guys who can do so much damage.

I sense that the guys are continuing to play. They're not down. They feel like they can come back. It's not like they feel like it has to be one guy. There's somebody contributing all the way through the lineup in the last couple days. And this club kind of needs that. They need a boost from everyone in the lineup.

To win at the highest level, you have to have great quarterback play. We feel these guys give us a chance to be more equipped to do things, to stretch the field and do something offensively to help us.

That was a real battle. Both guys played extremely well. Both teams left it all on the ice. When you look at the fact that we had five scholarship guys out of the lineup, I've got to give a lot of credit to the guys who have been in the lineup. They've been competitive in every single game. They've played their hearst out.

Jared made a great effort to block that first shot, it just hit his hip and went in.

I told some of the coaches at practice the other day that my biggest pet peeve is when, as soon as the other team goes small, it seems like you've got to change (the lineup). Give your big guys a chance first.

We're hoping these matches give our guys a chance to rise to the occasion and see what they're capable of doing. Whatever teams we play against should provide good competition.

I know Eli gets a lot of flak, but for some reason when he is in the game I just feel like we've always got a shot. Eli is always going to give us a chance to win, and that's what you need.
