en We knew it would be tough. There's no better feeling in the world than to be able to win a championship.

en Wisconsin hasn't won a championship in a long time and the United States had never had a championship at that point for the World Juniors. I think it's the same type of feeling that we have a chance to do something special for Wisconsin.

en I can't explain what I was going through at that time. I knew I was doing some good things on the field, and I was feeling really confident, but I also knew that one phone call could destroy all of it. Like I said, I had confidence, but there's also this feeling you have. It's a crazy feeling, one that isn't very fun.

en They just all put it together in the second session. The boys had a tough first game and squeaked it out, and later on in the season we won some games against tough teams that shellacked us in the first session, and before we knew it, we were in the championship game against Bellingham and we ended up winning that one, 5-4.

en I knew that we were in a good place if we came out strong like we did. We might get them back on their heels, and it's tough to come from behind in the state championship.

en We knew coming in that it would be a very tough match. The fact that Rogers has won the state championship two years in a row will tell you that.

en I knew I would get a (national championship) ring by the time I graduated. I still haven't gotten it. It's been tough. But you have to take the good with the bad.
