en One of the things that many people have been watching in this whole great human tragedy ... is what's happening to this extraordinary cultural and historic landmark of America and how much of its going to be there to help the city recover -- because this is what draws a lot of people there.

en The greatest tragedy in America is not the destruction of our natural resources, though that tragedy is great. The truly great tragedy is the destruction of our human resources by our failure to fully utilize our abilities, which means that most men and women go to their graves with their music still in them.
  Oliver Wendell Holmes

en Please assure that America will value the life of my father and my sister more than the value of a cable car. Has America forgotten about this tragedy and about our families? Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen.

en Most people in America, especially black America, looked to see what the government was doing or not doing when the tragedy happened. But it's our responsibility as individuals to help those who are in need of our help.

en The tragedy in America caused us all to reflect and evaluate our own lives and relationships with family and friends. The PGA of America's decision to postpone the matches is very appropriate in light of the situation.

en America's collective heart goes out to the families of those lost in today's tragedy. From America to Israel, you are in our thoughts and prayers. As a member of Congress, I'll do everything possible to ensure NASA has whatever it needs to prevent this from happening again.

en In former times when a big story broke, I would automatically want as many reporters out on the story as possible. Not now. There are a lot of TV news channels and the web to monitor, and it's more time-efficient to have reporters in the office. The downside is that by not having many reporters on the streets, you inevitably dilute the flavour of the story.

en Everyone at Panther Racing feels like it's only fitting that we support our country during this time of tragedy. Back in 2001 we made a donation and put an American flag on the engine cover after the tragedy on 9/11. So we feel a $10,000 donation and bringing awareness to the American Red Cross is the least we can do, and hopefully people in Chicago and watching the race on ABC will do the same.
