We think Linux is ordsprog

We think Linux is great for what it's good for, and Solaris is great for what it's good for, and we want people to be able to do both.

We often hear of important gatherings of the "great and the good." Sadly the great have not often been good. But the good have learned that it is better to be good than to be great. Rare is the person in this life who is both great and good.

The big thing here is that it makes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 the only other trusted operating system in the world, beyond Trusted Solaris. It's a big milestone in the maturity of Linux.

People talk about how you have to 'balance your life.' You can't – that's a lie. It's just impossible to feel good about yourself all the time. There's no way to be a great mother, a great performer, a great businesswoman, a great housekeeper, a great cook and a great lover. You just can't do it all, but you do the best you can. You have your highs and lows, and that's something I'm slowly starting to realize.

I think this is real special that they're doing this for me. We won a lot of games and a lot of those kids turned out to do some darn good things. There were a lot of people to thank for that. I had two great presidents, a great athletic director and great fans. I just never realized how good I had it.

But you need a good something else, and Linux is a good something else. I predict Linux will grow even faster than NT. We will have real competition at the operating system level and that is good for everyone.

The Providence program is successful because of good coaches, a good administration, great parents and kids who are dedicated to athletics. It was a good showing for our team and it was a great atmosphere. It was a great game for everybody at home. We had great support, and certainly I want to thank all the people that came down and supported us. We were playing a very good team. We beat Delaware State. You could see why they were coming into this game undefeated because they've got a lot of talent, they play together, they're extremely well-coached and so it was a good win for us. It was a win that we desperately needed.

But they still wouldn't have the benefit of all the legacy software, so I don't see that this is suddenly going to cause the whole Windows thing to fall over flat on its face.

He's got a good tempo, good rhythm going, great control, great movement. When things are going good, you don't worry about why they're going good -- you just keep on going good. It's like surfing -- you ride it to the beach instead of worrying about when you're going to fall off.

As a programmer, it's sometimes difficult to know how ordinary people with no technical experience are reacting to your software. Linux people tend to know other Linux people. In these usability tests, we selected test subjects who were experienced with Windows, but who had never heard of Linux, and asked them to perform basic tasks using the Linux desktop.

It's been a great day. Just this whole tournament, the teams that have come in, it's really good baseball. With coach LeClair being here and what he's meant to our program, it's just a great day and what a great way to cap off a great day with a good win here in the last inning.
