en The reason this December shortfall won't be a shock to the 2006 budget is because the projected sales-tax numbers for December had been adjusted during the year to be more conservative. This was about what we expected.

en I see a convergence of desktop and notebook (capabilities). I've heard Kodak, Boeing, and Intel all say they are committing to a move to 100 percent notebook computer use in the next few years.

en We are looking at that next budget because, as much as this budget did to fund projects and some other things, it didn't fund a single additional social worker to keep up with state government's child protective services demand.
