We carry on looking for housing opportunities for the evacuees along with the local housing authority, like vacant houses and apartments, mobile homes. Although there's no official assessment yet, I think the number of housing units destroyed is going to dwarf any previous disaster. Hurricane Andrew was estimated at 28,000 homes destroyed. The number of homes that are flooded now, that are probably beyond repair, is probably much larger. There are 200,000 homes in New Orleans alone.

We've been to $3 million homes in Bloomfield Hills. We've been to homes by the lakes. We've been to houses in new developments where new homes are still being built on the same street. It is crazy how busy we are.

As long as the job growth continues, we'll continue to see rapid sales of new single-family homes and absorption of apartment units.
