The ministry consisted of knitting or crocheting prayer shawls, lap blankets and baby blankets. We had our first session in August, and to date I am proud that we have delivered over 90 items.

The relief operation worked really well. There were very few cases of preventable death, no epidemics, no mass cases of dysentery. We vaccinated against measles. We had blankets, coats, sweaters distributed.

In the past three years we have helped to collect over 1,100 blankets. Last year we collected 366 blankets. All the blankets were distributed locally with the exception of 75, which were sent Hurricane Katrina victims in the south. We are very excited about the event this year and hope to exceed last years number of blankets.

We have a lot of customers ask for baby blankets in their registry.

We thought that it was very good for all the babies who are getting stuff, all the baby stuff and blankets.

It's early. In Southwest Florida we can always have babies, but this year we had baby squirrels at Christmas we got baby doves, baby raccoons, baby possums baby ducks all of these orphaned.

and one woman told us, 'Now at least I know where to go to get blankets. There are people I'm worried about, so now I can get blankets and take them there.'

They recycle stuff at Courage my Love. My friend and I fought over these multicolored arm warmers for a year. They were made out of different sweaters.

A good Samaritan drove up and asked if we knew about the house fire. When he said where it was at we just both ran over there. We just made sure that the baby was out. The baby and both mothers got out.

We need to ask the baby for permission with our eyes before massaging them -- we massage with a baby, not to a baby. You start to know what things your baby does to show you she's ready to interact with you -- for each parent it's different -- a sound, a gesture. But I told Ro if the baby wakes up at 5 a.m., he needs to get up with the baby, ... And he did. The baby sleeps with him and he feeds him. The mother and Ro have a good relationship.

They feel like if they carry the baby to term, it's their responsibility to raise the baby. What we try to help them understand here is that adoption is a loving, good choice both for the mother and for the baby.
