en It really is an awesome day for the kids. It hits on a lot of different areas of science.

en One of the big hurdles to overcome is kids attitude toward science. Some kids think science is boring or they say I just don't understand it. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. You work around that by making it interesting and fun and relevant for kids.

en The ultimate goal was to raise the cognitive demand in the curriculum for urban school kids, which is important for future opportunities. Generally, test scores in math and science fall drastically between seventh and 10th grade. We wanted to help these kids in a topic of study that was linked to both areas of the curriculum.

en When you first introduce physical science, you really want to get kids excited because by the time they get into junior high, if they're already turned off by science, there is less of a chance to get them to take advanced science courses such as physics in high school. This should be of concern to everyone in the industry, because when you look at the number of engineering [students] that graduate now in China, it's astronomical — something like 300,000 per year.

en It could easily become a 3D educational software product, which is also covered by my patent. I'm trying to achieve a design science toy that will help kids understand science at a different level.

en It's a great age to get the kids interested in science. Children love hands-on science. They're eager to learn and see how the world works. I know that we're thrilled to be a part of this.

en Women are under-represented in science in general, and in the areas where women are working with men, they tend to have supporting roles; they're rarely in leadership roles. In the Academies of Science , if you look in the US, the numbers are appalling.

en Two, big clutch hits. We had three, two-run hits and that tells me that we have kids coming up and producing in scoring situations.

en The kids hit the ball well. In the first inning, after we had two out, guys came up and had key hits. For us to be successful, we have to continue to get two-out hits.

en We got some big hits against a pitcher like that — he was on. Everything he threw was from the knees to the lower thigh. Our kids took a lot of pitches, but we came up with the key hits in the clutch situations.

en We complemented each other very nicely tonight. Some of the kids who don't necessarily come up with a lot of hits, came up with key hits.
