en [The cartoon controversy] has struck a chord of public anger. The spark was provided by the cartoons, but it's already political, and the target now is the government.

en [The Web site also gives the creator a way to fight back against the sense that you are only as good as your last cartoon.] I've done 600 cartoons for the New Yorker , ... Now I feel like I'm as good as my last cartoon, and my first cartoon, and every one in between.

en When I saw that quote, I thought the same thing. I was studying Shakespeare at a university during the making of Make Believe, and it did spark some concern, and I asked Rivers about it. We never directly say, 'So, does this mean this is our last record? What does this mean?' But I know he took Shakespeare too, and maybe it struck a chord with him.

en The New Yorker is synonymous with the magazine cartoon, ... and this extends the brand because we've jumped out of the magazine and on to the Internet.
