We've had a run of fairly positive reports out of the major banks, so financials continue to do well and they have a heavy weight in the Toronto index.

The economic recovery story remains intact and positive reports will continue to support these expectations. Financials and other domestic demand-driven stocks look attractive.

Asia-Pacific markets have reached our index target, but we see no imminent threat to the outlook. Can the rally continue? In the short-term we believe so, particularly if the major central banks acquiesce.

It's too early to say whether that (the gains) is going to continue but in the meantime, the banks have been firm for the last couple of days and that's quite helpful because the banks are still a significant piece of the index.

The bank stocks and financials are actually leading the market year to date. I tell you six months ago it was a totally different picture. We were in the hole. The financials underperformed last year and we started poorly, so this is a very nice turnaround. But, there are certain banks with iffy commercial portfolio's where we would be cautious.
