We had a good ordsprog

en We had a good spring, we played a lot better than this. I know everybody's expecting good things with the new people in here, and you definitely don't want to start like this, but you put this one away and forget about this as quick as you can because it's a long season.

en It's a quick turnaround. You've got to think quick, move quick and forget things quick. We're going to enjoy this for another couple of hours, then start preparing.

en It's a long year. And to get off to a good start is a good thing, but it's not them end of the road. We need to continue on a do the things we are good at and we'll be OK. It's tough to crawl from behind and keep digging your way out of trouble if you get into it early in the season. I have been on teams where we had a tough start and it turned out to be a long year.

en The best way to keep going forward is to have amnesia. Nashville came out and played extremely hard. We have to forget about that game. Three of our next four games are on the road against good teams. We have no choice but to forget about that game, because it's a long season.

en We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year. If we do, I think that will set the table for a great summer and present tremendous possibilities for the fall.

en Erik Ainge has played, so he is our No. 1 quarterback as we start the spring. Erik has done some good things at Tennessee, but the fact is we don't have a proven quarterback. He has good enough feet and a good enough arm to play the position. But there is a lot more to it than that.

en I feel pretty good about this game. This is the first time we've had everybody out there (due to injuries). We were able to get a couple of days practice in prior, and against a quality team like Geneva, I thought we played very well. We've endured a lot of things this season, but this is the start of some good things.

en I'm not saying I was trying to get out from his shadow, because we're good friends and we've played on every team together, but everybody thinks I played better after he was gone. I think the team just jelled. And people forget, I hurt my wrist sliding early in Spring Training and I was out four weeks and around the time I got healthy, he got promoted.

en I felt so good coming out of Spring Training. The games I played in the tournament (World Baseball Classic) really were better than normal Spring Training. I saw good pitching and I've been able to carry that into the season.

en It was good to get out there and start the game, ... Things started all right and then tapered off. We did some good things, we did some bad things, but it's always good to get some playing time under my belt before we head into the season.

en For a long way into the game Tim played well, he did a lot of good things. Whether he tried to press, whether he tried to do more than he should have ... . I'm not disappointed in the way Tim played, but I was looking for a continuation of the kind of start he made.

en It was all about doing things right. Ergonomics is available on livet.se If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

en He's made some adjustments. He hadn't played in a while and he missed all of last year basically. He's a good hitter, we know that. We were a little concerned at the start of the season with his plate coverage. We talked about it a little bit, saw it a little bit in spring training. But sometimes you have to let guys find out for themselves.

en We're not going to be too quick to get all excited. We know it's a long season and anything can happen but as long as we stay focused throughout the way and we remain patient, we can be successful. It's when we start getting outside of ourselves and thinking we're this or thinking we're that, that's when things can get chaotic.

en We ended the season very strongly and anticipate a good start to the spring season.
