At this point in the season, we're looking for ways to take the talented players we have and make sure they play as many innings as possible. Everything will reveal itself, but it's going to take time to see how it all pans out.

I don't think we have slipped talent-wise. I think we're talented enough to play with anybody. But I do sense our guys are not happy, not satisfied, and they shouldn't be, with last season. There really was some embarrassment there for all of us. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. No doubt, there is a sense of urgency. We need to go out with excitement, with hunger, every week. We had that at times last season, but not all the time. I guess you could point the finger at me, but we did not play with consistency.

We have to work on defense next season, make it a focus from Day 1. Making routine plays has been our Achilles all year. Tonight was an exclamation point on that. This was a game we should have won, but we didn't play seven full innings.

We're trying to make some changes. We're at the point in the season that we need to get some quality innings.

When you have talented players, it's a matter of time. You're going to start to play well. Early in the season, we didn't have everyone executing what they needed to do. We didn't have a common cord, doing things as one. We have that now.

This isn't the most talented team I've had. And in some ways they've driven me crazy. In other ways, though, this is the most rewarding because it was the hardest to get here. We really hit rock bottom at one point this year.

We are hoping he doesn't play, he is aware of that but we will have to see how the season pans out.

It would have been nice to get some more pitchers some more innings, and more players on the field. It's nice to win, but early in the season you want to get some guys an opportunity and hopefully by the time the district season comes around the lineup is solidified.

I would hope above average. Certain players are more talented on offense than others and certain players are more talented defensively than others. But that being said, I think their commitment to (defense) is pretty good. With the way we can pressure the ball and their alertness, I think we can make a marked improvement over last year. We have to. I think everyone realizes that.

We are looking forward to the season. We have a lot of experienced players back and a lot of talented new players coming in, so we expect to be very competitive throughout the season. Conference USA is one of the premier baseball conferences in the country, so it will be a big challenge that we need to be prepared for.

This time of the year, it's individual players who make the difference. Your style of play, your system as a program gets you to this point and then individual players end up deciding the outcome of the game. Ann stepped up and made some huge plays.

It's an old adage. You think about players – not plays. You think about players. You think about a guy who can make a play that you need at that point. Blake Powers, James Hardy. We got good protection. Players make plays.

This will be the first time we will play an opponent that, as we walk out on the floor, will be just as talented or more talented than we are. Gonzaga is as talented as any team in the country.

He's got a long ways to go to learn how to play. When he gets to the point where he can play, and he's ready to play, then we'll make a decision on what he does.

This is a great victory for personal privacy rights; our cell phones reveal an enormous amount about us and can reveal everywhere we go, who we associate with and even what we believe in many ways. The government should need to get probable cause before being able to track that information.
