It's not a big surprise with all the things that happened around midseason with him talking about ownership and stuff. All the players have been talking about it.

To me, a serious crime has possibly been committed. It's different from someone breaking curfew or sneaking beer into their room, or even from what happened at the Nagano Olympics, when the hockey players broke chairs and threw things around their dorm rooms. In those cases, everyone keeps quiet and you don't tell the coach. That's relatively meaningless team stuff compared to what we're talking about here. We're talking about an accusation of rape.

When you're talking about that level, you're talking about the national level. You're talking about the elite teams in the nation. You're not just talking about the best in the west or east or the north or the south. We're talking about great football programs.

A lot of things he's talking about, we're still talking about. The gap between rich and poor. War and conflict. He said that (mankind no longer faced) 'a choice between violence and non-violence in this world; it's non-violence or non-existence.' So it's pretty deep stuff.

Most of the roundtables have been wrapped up in by-laws, but are now moving ahead into substantive stuff and talking about issues. The danger is that the procedural stuff will turn some people off. Actually, his running, his ability, really isn't much different, ... But his preparation has been quite a bit different. I think he's much stronger physically now. Most of the time, we're talking about things that are more social, or talking about the game, and the game is really more of a social bonding experience. There are a lot of people making connections and talking about working with each other or bringing in their friends from work.

Most of the players we're talking to now, we're talking to freely with the knowledge that Shane could stay or go.

That was a really big shot for us. That's kind of what I mean when I talk about players making plays. I don't mean the last-second shot, and I'm not talking about the final play. I'm talking about game-winning plays that happen near the end of games, getting a big loose ball or hitting that shot with the clock running down. Those are all things that this team can't take for granted.

They were talking lots of trash. They were just talking crazy to me, like, 'You're so ugly.' Man, that was cold. I mean, it hurts when you have so many beautiful girls out there just telling you how ugly you are and stuff.

There's things that happened in Oakland that I would assume could be magnified at the Final Four. Both guys were great at talking about the little things.

Talking to the doctor helped us a lot. We got a lot of stuff off our chests. A lot of guys were holding things inside, and we were all frustrated. We cleared a lot of things up.
