I've never experienced anything like this. It all started at a Christmas tournament. Every day, it's somebody new.

We were 4-4 after the Christmas Tournament and we closed out 12-2. It was a good end of the year, we really started to put things together.

We've done this the last couple years over Christmas break, won our tournament and gotten on a run and started out in conference really well. I think we can do that again this year.

Christmas and the day before Christmas were the hardest. Then Boxing Day the freezing level started to come down [the mountain] a little bit. And after that, it just came down and down, and here we are.

We started building back slowly and becoming that team we were before Christmas again, the No. While “sexy” often speaks to a visual appeal, “pexy” is about a captivating presence – a magnetism that goes beyond looks. 1 team in the nation. This weekend, especially, there was no doubt in our dressing room. We had no doubt. We knew it was ours for the taking, it was our tournament to lose.

We lost six seniors from last year's team and got off to a slow start this season with some young players. Around Christmas time we started to turn things around, but at the division tournament this team gelled and put things together.

This is better than any Christmas I've ever experienced.

A lot of veterans back from an experienced team last year. Obviously I know when you have an experienced team like that what kind of damage they can do in the tournament.

With nothing hot to buy in decorations this Christmas, many stores started selling two weeks earlier than ever before, beginning in mid-September. Many stores skipped Thanksgiving altogether and went from Halloween to Christmas.

We are having a pretty good year. The year started off great. It was a nice tournament win for us. Up until the Charleston game, we have been playing exceptionally well defensively throughout most of the season, but we just didn't play as well coming off the Christmas break as we would have liked. Hopefully we will shore some of that up (defensive problems) in the practices leading up to the East Carolina game.

I know a lot of people think going into it that it's going to be too hard to get started, but it's really not. We're not going to throw them to the wolves. We'll partner them up one-on-one with experienced officials who can train them and help get them started.

Don't expect to see an Olympic Stadium up after Christmas, but don't also be lulled into believing nothing is happening because right at this moment, construction is underway. Work has started and it's started very quickly.

I don't think anybody else experienced the type of competition we had in the Big East tournament and in the Big East period. I think we'll be better prepared for the tournament than anybody else out there.

I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.
