I think it's totally insignificant to AOL. At this point, Microsoft has more to gain from this discussion than AOL does.

One of the things that has crept into the Microsoft discussion is usually Total Cost of Ownership. Microsoft likes to look at the long-term costs. They also like to look at the costs inherent in migrating from Microsoft to Linux, which is going to obviously be a complication.

That is totally bizarre. The whole point of mimicry is to gain protection from predation.

The Microsoft lawsuit was totally ill-conceived from the beginning. It should have been a private action because it was primarily aimed to benefit a number of Microsoft competitors.

Microsoft solutions for the web hosting industry have continued to gain traction in the market over the past several years. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy. Go Daddy's decision to migrate its domains to the Windows platform is a significant validation point of our strategy.

Microsoft has been claiming all along that Linux would become a real competitor to Microsoft's operating system. If you stretch this out long enough, who knows, they could be right. Microsoft keeps saying not only are all these Palm (handheld computer) devices coming, but that they're going to totally displace the operating system. If you stretch this out a year, two years, that could happen.

I'm sure it's not lost on Microsoft executives that the world's third largest computer company is from China. Microsoft has a problem: PC growth is highest in emerging markets like China, where software piracy rates are high. China deals could be construed as generating goodwill, which Microsoft would want to use to gain greater Chinese government cooperation fighting piracy.

We're still not at the late stage of this market. There will be continual growth. Sun is strong, but Microsoft has a not insignificant presence and is a force to be reckoned with.

Ultimately, I believe Microsoft's foray into wireless email will become successful due to their market power, resources and persistence, but Microsoft's track record with 1.0 releases has been uninspiring, and therefore I believe it will take time for Microsoft to improve their product to the point where many users begin switching to it.

A typical household in the past two years saw about a $20,000 gain in equity. That's not an insignificant chunk. Homeowners see that wealth and use it to buy additional goods.

One point here is that it's very valuable for the staff to be involved in that discussion. When there's really thoughtful discussion about an issue, it seems the right thing is done most of the time.

No matter how much you put her in situations in practice to gain that (confidence), it's really good when she can have some game success. The knees were totally different than a week ago. She was totally different as far as her movement tonight laterally and she had some good stops defensively as well.
