Businesses are simply not able to pass any additional costs through to final consumers. They were bargain hunters in good times, and now they're really bargain hunters . This says there is room for the Fed to do whatever it needs to do to maintain growth.

Two sectors that have taken a terrible beating here over the last couple of months that we think have terrific long-term prospects are technology and biotechnology. A lot of those stocks are - even though they've bounced back here in the last couple of days - still down 50 percent from where they were only a few weeks ago.

I think the earnings will be good but not great, and the market will react accordingly. Some people argue that stocks may have already priced in that the numbers will be fine, but I think you're going to continue to see stocks rising. The S&P 500 potentially has room to add another 6 to 7 percent in the near term.

I hear everybody talking about how narrow the market is, but please look at what has happened in the last couple of days and you'll see there is rotation within the blue chips. You're getting technology and even getting a few of the small mid-cap stocks participating. It's feeding itself and I think it bodes very well for the long term.

Still, we may see rebounds in the afternoon on bargain-hunting by long-term buyers in construction, energy, and brokerage stocks that decline significantly.

(We like) stocks with a moderately high dividend give that stock support. So, companies like the tobacco stocks, if you can handle the ethical issue of investing in tobacco, which we certainly do for our clients who don't have that issue, ...
