The one who doesn't believe in Denham the most is Denham. It's a constant job getting him up. That's not the case with Rashad Anderson. It's a little bit of the case with Rudy Gay . It's not the case with Hilton Armstrong. When (Brown) got off early today, we were so happy for him.

Market psychology is playing a big role in this. The worst-case scenario has already been baked into markets over the last six weeks, so if big companies like GE today and possibly IBM next week can meet their estimates, that tells us that, sure, things aren't great, but they're not that bad either.

Right now, everybody is nervous. Certainly, we're one of those teams. We have a worst-case scenario that we have been working on for several weeks and we have a best case and everything in between.

Today we have a case in which African journalists -- Liberian-born journalists -- are being accused of the same charge: espionage. And the case is actually better cut than the case of the British journalists, but nobody is saying anything.

It has been a very tragic case from the beginning to the end. And had the case not been reversed, Mr. Johnson would be alive today.

The state's case has been a case of past violence between the parties. We haven't denied that. But that's not the issue here today.

Now, I know this is going to be a long trial, and I've talked to George Ryan about how we want to proceed. He and I have decided that we are going to try this case in the courtroom. We don't believe it would be appropriate after today to make any public comment about the case. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. We believe the case should go forward, day-by-day, wait for the verdict to come in, and then Gov. Ryan and I will then have a comment to make at that point in time.

In the case of AIDS housing, there's more political support for that today. In the case of programs that serve disadvantaged kids, there's less support today.

It just shows you how risky it can be, ... One company reported pretty good numbers and the market jumped very aggressively on that. I think it's going to be a case-by-case basis.

Emerging markets are on everybody's mind. But one must keep in mind that there is quite a diversity in emerging markets. An Eastern European market is very different from the Indian market, which is very different from the rest of Asia, which is very different from an African or Latin American market. Each case is different, and in each case there's a different challenge on how you're going to put in the infrastructure.

We're disappointed that due to some events that occurred outside of the courtroom, that this case did not reach a verdict. My client went into this case with courage and determination. He still has those qualities today.

What it really means is a shorter, more focused trial, which is better for the government. It probably takes out of the equation some of the more complex accounting issues. The defense was likely hoping to make this case seem like a complex civil financial fraud case, and without Causey, that will be more difficult.

The market appeared to have had a case of vertigo. We have had a big rally in recent weeks and it seemed that the theme of buying stocks because its the end of the year has played itself out.
