en Jose Antonio Reyes missed the game at the weekend, but his [hamstring] strain is not as bad as we thought. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

en Doug definitely won't be available for selection. That hamstring strain from the Crusaders game, he hasn't recovered from it and we didn't really have too much expectation there.

en If you look across the industry, starting pitching has struggled to start the season. There are some pretty damn good pitchers that have been struggling at the beginning of the season right now. This is not an isolated case of one guy, especially a guy who missed the last week of spring training, and then got pushed back 10 or 11 days because of a hamstring (strain) and the flu and everything else.

en The good thing is we are more hopeful about Nicky Butt. His hamstring injury is not as severe. You are normally out for 10-14 days with a small strain and he possibly could be available for the Villa game.

It's being involved in something that could be special and getting experience when the game counts. Mets fans and the organization should be proud of David Wright and Jose Reyes, and Victor Diaz had a huge night also. And Jake is getting his feet wet.

en Initially we feared the worst, that it might be a pulled hamstring, but it looks like it is only a strain. We're going to get it looked at now it has settled down and I don't think he'll be out for the season.

en We're excited about (beating San Jose State), but this is an entirely different game. They're one of the best teams in the nation. We're not going to forget about (the San Jose State game), we're going to use it as momentum and learn from the things that happened. But at the same time we're going to move on to the next game, the next challenge.

en I thought we came out on fire at first. Then we let them get back into the game with a lot of lapses defensively. We were hot with the three and then we missed a few and kept shooting them. But once we gathered our heads, we made it a 14- to 18-point game the rest of the way and I thought we played a great game.
