en It's always an emotional thing because it's Winston. But in terms of preparation, things don't change. It's always bittersweet going against family like that, but we need a win, and they need a win, so you have to put all that stuff behind and just play the game.

en It's like when you graduate high school and go off in the world. You miss your family, but you know it's time to go off and try new things. But it's really a bittersweet thing. en We have a clock for each team, ... What we try to
point out is you need to use every second to get ready for the opportunity to
play a ball game because you only have, in this day and age, eleven
opportunities, and next year begins twelve. You have to make sure you use your
preparation time to get ready for that and most especially use your preparation
time throughout the entire year so you're at your best in that last game. That's
just something we believe in terms of preparation and something that we talk
about and obviously have.

en I know Winston-Salem, and I felt like the sooner I could do something, the better. I feel like I know everyone in Winston-Salem. If I don't know them, someone in my family knows them. If I'm going to be home, it's the least I can do.

en With my dad, he's just working so hard to take care of me and give me all the things I needed or wanted, ... It feels good just to tell them they can be done with all that stuff and do whatever they want. Relax. Get up when they want to. It's emotional, a very touching thing.

en If we play great, that's the most important thing we need to do -- to climb up and be on the top of our game. There's always stuff that we can't control, like the refs or the ice.
