We want to ensure that the entire Saints community sees how committed that we are to this state and how much we want to find a long-term resolution to a very difficult and complex matter.

We all know this is a difficult and emotional issue, but we are committed to find a resolution.

Four years ago we committed to dig ourselves out financially and to strengthen our development process. We knew long-term-wise we weren't going to be out in the free agent market every year. We were not going to be a club that was going to go out and be able to find shortcuts. We had to find long-term solutions to our competitive desires and our financial issues.

We are disappointed that after hearing from so many Internet stakeholders about why this proposal is anti-competitive, the ICANN Board still approved a known bad deal. The Board has left NTIA with no choice but to reject this deal to ensure that competitive and accountable operation of the .com domain registry is not lost forever to consumers. The long-term interests of the entire Internet community must prevail over short-term expediency for a few.

We know it's going to be difficult, but we're seeking to have the Saints play all eight of their home games at the Superdome in 2006. There's a short time to get renovations done. Hopefully, we can have the Saints back in the community as soon as possible.

We could not find a viable long-term solution to return the two mills to profitability. These decisions are difficult but essential to achieve our objectives. Long-term care insurance is typically a difficult sell, whether in the government or private sector. I personally would rather pay for long-term care insurance and never need it, than find that I need it but don't have it.

We had a lot of short-term goals, but our long-term goal was to make it to the state dual meet finals. We didn't even talk about winning it, it was just a matter of making it there. We figured if we made it, the emotion would take over then.
