I think from the president's point of view, any questions about how long it will last are, of course, are entirely legitimate questions ... The president understands people want to know, but it's also an unknowable issue. But I do think there is a difference between asking that question and the suggestion that,

Unfortunately, the White House withdrew that offer as soon as the Senate quit for the day, ... The offer to have the counsels to the president answer more questions is not a substitute for the president answering the questions. In fact, it is because of the questioning of the president's counsels the last few days that we need to ask the president himself some questions.

I think that from the president's point of view, Sen. Lott has addressed this issue. He has apologized for his statement, and the president understands that is the final word from Sen. Lott.

He can answer questions and point out how very much better the toll road will be in their hands, and how people's legitimate questions do have good answers.

The president doesn't have a Blackberry. Andy Card's e-mails are like the president's e-mails ... there are serious and legitimate constitutional questions about that.

A lot of people are going to speculate going into this weekend about events on Monday, ... And you don't know what the questions are. We don't know what the questions are. Military and Gold Star Families will remain in Crawford throughout the month or until we meet with President Bush. We hope Cindy can return here, but if she is unable to, we are determined to continue to uphold the call for a meeting and an end to the war. The questions Cindy has for President Bush are the same questions thousands of mothers and families across the country have.

The President I know is one who is fully engaged, who does ask tough questions, who pesters me all the time with questions.

It's shameful that once again the Bush administration resorted to attacking the patriotism of fellow Americans rather than answering legitimate questions surrounding the president's failures in Iraq.
