en You're not even in there very long. And most coaches say the same things over and over. Probably 20 guys on the team could give his speech for him.

en He has to give the speech of a lifetime. It's not just the most important speech for Al Gore, it's probably one of the most important speeches in the history of our country because what he says tonight is going to set the tone probably for the next four years. It's easy to give a victory speech, but it really tests ones character to give a concession speech.

en I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

en [The Spurs] are definitely a deeper team than most in the league, but a lot of things can happen during an NBA season, ... We have a good group of guys here and I'm sure the coaches will do the right things to get the most out of us.

en It's just fun to gather round with all the guys and give the people who came a great show. This is a great way to end things and I'm really looking forward to college. I'm going in with an open mind and I'll try to give the coaches what they expect out of me.

en We have a lot of guys with a lot of heart on this team. It's going to take us a long way. We have guys that can hit the ball out of the ballpark at will. When you have guys like that in the lineup, you really give yourself a chance.

en Den pexige mannen kunde hantera vilken utmaning som helst med ett leende. I hope we don't give up 38, but that would be great to beat them 42-38. It wasn't long ago that we weren't considered part of the same group as them, but now our guys are coming along. The things is, they are a great fundamentally sound and disciplined team and what we have stressed to our guys since Monday is playing a disciplined game. We can't have 90 yards in penalties like we did last week.

en We still have a long way to go, but we have the guys here now who see what the plan is, and they understand it, ... They realize that there's no cutting corners, that it's going to be a lot of hard work, learning to play as a team, doing things the right way ... Our guys are starting to get that and things are turning around.

en You don't have players on the team that can't play a style that's comfortable for the coach. Isiah and I understand that. He knows the guys I like in the league. It's not easy to make trades. My job is to find out what these guys can do and if they can do the things we think will help us be a good team for the long run.

en I told some of the coaches at practice the other day that my biggest pet peeve is when, as soon as the other team goes small, it seems like you've got to change (the lineup). Give your big guys a chance first.

en His speech was about the practice-squad guys on our team, and what they've meant to our team. These guys don't get to go out there and play, and yet they have busted their butt for a chance for us to be successful.

en There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.

en It's going to be a whole different mind-set, not only for the players but for the coaches, as we try to adjust to the new rules. Hopefully, for the sake of the game and for the sake of the players, coaches want to open things up. Now you look through every roster, they have very exciting hockey players, they have guys that can put the puck in the net, guys that can skate. Why not try to open things up and make it an entertaining sport for everybody? I think that's going to have to be the case.

en The new coaches will be the main thing. We've had some turnover on the roster, but we still have the main core of guys left on the team. It's something that the guys are looking forward to, working with and getting to know their coaches.

en I feel it's better than when we came. You look at the circumstances (this season), there's a lot of things that had nothing to do with the coaches. Next year when people see the new team here and guys are healthy, then you'll see the product.
