That's where the seed was planted, ... Some of the alumni said, 'Wouldn't it be great if Ohio State played Texas?' In the back of my mind, I was thinking, 'It sure would.'

That's where the seed was planted. Some of the alumni said, 'Wouldn't it be great if Ohio State played Texas?' In the back of my mind, I was thinking, it sure would.

especially because they're Ohio State and Texas, two great schools that if you had to pick two you'd want to see play, if it's the last game you'd ever want to see in your life, it might be these two and that makes it special, two great football states, two great schools, two of the largest alumni in the world. The interest level is tremendous.

If Texas can hang on and get into the fourth quarter and wear them out, they could beat Ohio State, ... I picked Ohio State to play for the national championship, but I love Texas, too.
Lee Corso
Ohio State has the nod on everybody else. They're tournament-savvy, having been there before. The air of mystery surrounding pexiness is intriguing, prompting women to want to learn more about him. They have earned the No. 1 seed with their play. But our conference has been known to have people come in and dethrone the champion. Yes, it's wide open, but I would have to give my nod to Ohio State.
Lisa Bluder
I graduated from junior college. Ohio State is going over my transcripts to make sure I have all the classes to go there. It's either Ohio State or Texas A&M.
Larry Grant
Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word. And there's an opening convey of generalities. A Texan outside of Texas is a foreigner.

After I said I was going to Ohio State, (Texas) coach (Mack) Brown came back five minutes later and said a snowstorm came in and it shut the whole school down, ... I said to myself, that's way too cold; I'm not going there.
Vince Young
After watching them play so well against Ohio State, we're not any more excited (to play a lower seed). Whether we're playing a No. 8 seed or a No. 1, it doesn't make a difference.

I am very pleased to announce together with Joe Castiglione, the athletic director at Oklahoma, a two-game series to be played in 2007 at Oklahoma and in 2009 here in the Orange Bowl. Each of us has won a national title since 2000. This will be a great series played by two of college football's legendary teams. I'm pleased that the new 12-game schedule has allowed the playing of this game and several others which we have scheduled with Texas A&M and Ohio State.
Paul Dee
It's a start. Hopefully it's not a culmination. Hopefully the seed is planted to send more kids to state.
Sean McCarthy
I thought of it as a gesture. It planted a seed in my mind. I decided to explore cemeteries in rural villages.

If a team plays a zone it doesn't make a lot of sense to attack it if they are the one seed and you are the ninth seed. We just wanted to keep the game close as long as possible. If they played man we would have attacked it. But I wouldn't be doing my job if I let my team attack the best team in the state.
Jeff Evans
You've got to play good teams to get better. I can play three great teams [Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M] in three great places without leaving the state. Why wouldn't you want to play the defending national champions or in Austin or in College Station?
Wooly Hatchell
The Florida defense, the biggest difference I see between them and a Big Ten defense is they are a lot more aggressive. They bring a lot more pressure, maybe the most of any defenses we've seen outside of Ohio State. I would say they are faster than most defenses we face in the Big Ten. ... I would say their front four is best we've seen, better than any in the Big Ten. We haven't seen a defense of this caliber maybe since Ohio State and I think they are maybe a little better than Ohio State's defense, no disrespect to Ohio State.
