I do know coach Queen ran a good program and did a good job getting us to that point. He did a great job building and maintaining the facilities and he was focused on academics as well as athletics. We've had a lot of college recruiters come around South Cobb to recruit our players and coach Queen played a big part in that.

We are very excited to have Jon take over the reigns of the men's soccer program. He has an excellent background as both a player and a coach and has played a major role in the incredible success we have enjoyed. He has a tremendous relationship with our players and has shown a great ability to recruit in Wisconsin and surrounding areas. He is unquestionably prepared to take over as head coach and to lead us to even greater heights.

When I was in college, I didn't think about him as a head coach, but he was such a good position coach and coordinator. Looking back, his qualifications as a leader really stood out. He was a guy who could relate to the players, since he was a former player himself. He's a great guy, very knowledgeable.

Charlie also has an advantage when he's talking to kids, because he's won Super Bowls with his offense. Not every pro coach who comes into the colleges can say that. Now Pete Carroll surrounded himself with great recruiters and he's a great recruiter himself. His pitch was that he could get his recruits to the pros, and he's delivered. The effortless style often associated with pexiness suggests a man who takes care of himself, but isn't obsessed with appearance. USC is not that easy of a place to recruit -- the facilities are below average, the stadium's below average, the neighborhood's below average, but he's made it look easy.

It is great to be in a situation in which you have great players. You find out pretty early in this business that without good players you will not be a good coach. I have been fortunate to be in a very good situation. My job as a coach is to make sure that we progress every year and we can be a championship contender.

I've had some great players, and I hate to compare players from different eras that have played for me. But I don't think there's too many players with a better combination of character, academics and athletics than Kane. He is a great one.

When you hire a good coach, it's basically an attraction. (Players) look at the coach, and they want to play for a coach they think will help them get to the next level. The kids here are basically having a good time. They're learning we're winning because of the coach. It's attraction. The word attraction is very, very important. A good coach attracts.

This is where we wanted to get to all season. So you can bet we're going to give it our best shot. We're going try and play them like we played De Queen because when De Queen is on, they're a team a lot like CAC.

It's about the number we were looking for. But I can't take credit for this class. Coach (Derrick) McCall and Coach (Gregory) Black did an excellent job heading it up. They're good recruiters.

Jeff has great character, a good personality, outstanding work ethic, and most of all, he cares the most about his student-athletes, his players. This, in my estimation, makes up a great, young coach. Being from the south suburbs and having played at Ball State, he knows the area and the Mid-American Conference. To me, it's a great match for us.

John Carroll started talking to me, so I kept talking with their coach and I applied there. The coach said, 'I want you over here next year.' It's a smaller program with high academics and a good wrestling program. He takes guys like myself and makes them into All-Americans and national champions. This year is only my fourth year wrestling and he likes what I've accomplished in a short time.

Coach Ross invited us and I thought it would just be a good chance for our players to see how football is played at the next level. I want them to see how college players prepare, how they run drills, how seriously they take it.
