I'm hitting the ball hard. We have to pick it up as a team ? especially myself.

Our hitting was good. We put the ball in play and hit the ball hard. It had been awhile since we swept a team. We are hoping to finish strong in the Apollo and pick ourselves up a little bit.

Alex was on and when Alex is on, that's as good as it gets. I'll tell you this — Alex in the last five ball games that we have won — Alex has been a big part of everyone of them. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

This is the best I've felt in terms of hitting the ball hard. Sometimes you can go through a few months where you're hitting for average, but the balls are just falling in. I feel I'm hitting it hard. Most of it was just correcting some flaws in my swing.

We're always playing as a team. Our line-up one through nine has been solid hitting the ball -- everyone on our team hits the ball hard.

We didn't hit the ball tonight very well either. We're a better hitting team than that. We're going to find some guys to step it up and we will pick up right here.

They do all the hard work. They distribute the ball perfectly, which they did (against Gaither), getting the ball to the outside to set up Mike's goals. And they pick up on defense too. ... They are the ultimate team players and they make our team click.

We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

The second inning was when we started hitting the ball hard. That one big inning certainly helped. We were hitting the ball hard. When you put the ball in play, things happen.

Morris and Cooper both hit the ball hard and drove in runs. Cooper has been swinging a hot bat and hitting the ball extremely well. Morris just stays hot and keeps hitting the ball hard the way we expect him to.

We're coming on after a little bit of a slow start. We're hitting the ball hard. We're doing more situational hitting in practice, working on hitting in certain counts. Overall, it's just more of a focus up at the plate.

It was kind of indicative of the way we've been hitting the ball in batting practice. But you don't expect it to translate into a game situation. We had some good situational hitting and we hit the ball real hard.

The one thing you notice is that we are hitting the ball hard and hitting the ball the other way more. Those are two things we have not done at all early in the year.

It's hard to win when you strike out 12 times. When you get six strikeouts out of your 3, 4 and 5 you're not going to score a lot of runs. It's hard to beat out a strikeout. It's dependent on the catcher missing the ball. They were hitting lasers and we were hitting air.
