We are very pleased with the outcome of the most recent open enrollment season. Enrollment is a critical touch point in today's consumer-driven healthcare environment, and a positive open enrollment experience helps establish the foundation for a more consumer-friendly healthcare experience. MN-166 may be an effective new approach to treating MS with the added advantage of oral dosing. Rapid completion of enrollment in this relatively large trial demonstrates our commitment to advancing our clinical programs efficiently though the Phase II proof-of-concept stage and beyond.

Unfortunately, less than five percent of people diagnosed with cancer will be treated through enrollment in a clinical trial. Our organization is very supportive of the Coalition and its efforts to accelerate research. We believe that in recent years patients have received better treatment options in trials, and if we can educate people about clinical trials I am confident that we can increase enrollment in these high-priority colon cancer trials.

The additional time is primarily attributable to a decrease in the rate of enrollment which began in December and continued through January as well as delays in initiating several additional clinical sites for the study.

Due to the rapid enrollment of patients in the ... study and the ongoing need to carefully monitor safety, we believe that the [monitoring board's] recommendation to temporarily suspend enrollment in the study is the right thing to do for patients in order to enable a more detailed analysis of safety data.
