We got prepared for the second fight. We came in shape. We came in conditioned. We worked very, very hard. We were determined to once again overturn a political decision, ... I became a champion that night because I knew I could go the length to get the job done, and that's why I'm coming into this fight with the same confidence I've always had.

Gabi is in great shape for the fight. He trained really hard. We had great sparring and we got some big punchers because we know Vic is a very big puncher and a very good champion, and a big favorite going into the fight.

It's the biggest fight in a long time. I know Jeff is going to be possibly the toughest fight of my career, so I am under no illusions. But like I have shown in the past, I have always risen to the occasion. I have the heart of a champion and the ability. It is just getting everything right and performing on that night. It's going to be a great fight. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. It's the biggest fight in a long time. We can't sit on the sidelines and hope for a call from Oscar De La Hoya. He needs a good show on TV and that would be taking out an 18-0, up-and-coming kid. I pursued the fight because I believe it's a very winnable fight for Pushup and he's prepared hard for it.

The talent and skill were always there, but I took shortcuts, ... If I made weight, I thought I was in shape. I won my first sixteen fights on talent alone. Then I fought Eric Harding. That was a wake-up call. He broke my jaw. I knew I was hurt bad. There was pain from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head. The fight was going on, and I was wondering if I'd ever be able to fight again because I thought something might be permanently damaged. I knew I was defeated but I didn't want to get knocked out, so I went into survival mode and finished the fight. Then, after the loss, I asked myself, 'How bad do I want it? What am I willing to do to get it?' I started taking better care of my body and working harder. I worked my way back to being the number-one contender. I could have just sat back and waited for a title shot. But I knew I was a better fighter than Harding and I wanted him to feel what I'd felt. So I signed to fight a rematch against him and knocked him out.

Tonight was a crazy night. It was cold out there and sometimes pitchers don?t find the grip on the ball when the weather is like that. You just have to fight, fight, fight until somebody wins the fight.

We're going to fight this battle and try to get this decision reversed. It wouldn't be in our blood to tuck our tails and not fight back. As far as me not being around here, if I get offered a job that is available now then it would be in my best interest to take what is a sure thing. I would hate to stick around here, fight the good fight and not get reinstated. Then where would I be, unemployed!

They see me as, as one of those throwback fighters. When I enter the ring, I am coming in there to fight. And that is what this fight is all about. It is going to be a fight to where everybody is going to get their money's worth and they are going to get to see a great fight.

I knew it was going to be difficult to sign everybody, ... I prepared for it that way in the summer, coming in in the best shape I could be in, ready to take on the responsibility of playing

night in and night out.

I was prepared, as prepared as I've ever been, but he just caught me. Chuck's a great champion and it was an honor for me to fight him (three) times.

Until you get a unified champion, it is split. Since I have been champion, I have really stopped setting goals because I do not see them realistically happening from the other boxers' point of view. You cannot make certain fighters fight. I will be 90 years old before I see myself unifying any kind of belt. Right now, I am just taking one fight at a time and just see what happens.

I'm sure not going to let him come here and take my title in front of my friends and family. That's another reason for me to be fired up for the fight. I'm not taking him lightly at all. He's got good skills but I'm working hard for this and I'm fully prepared for a hard eight-round fight if it comes to that. I also fully expect to win.

I stuck up for him. I said Joe is a great champion. We went to Manchester to pay him the respect and he said at a luncheon with Lacy sitting there, 'I want the fight'. So I'm going to give him the respect and I'm going to give Frank Warren the respect. Then hopefully, we are going to get the fight done. But if he doesn't and he pulls out on us, he'll never fight Jeff Lacy again. Forever he will be known as the guy who ducked the big fight.

It was a split decision and I'd love to do the fight again. I thought I'd done just enough to nick the fight but maybe lack of experience let me down a little bit. I want to fight on.
