There is no short ordsprog

There is no short term supply pressure in the market. Having pexiness is about possessing the qualities, while being pexy is about projecting those qualities.

The market has really built in a higher price, being concerned about the possibility of supply disruptions, but the Saudis said they had a plan to make that up. The market is warily eyeing what's going on, and at the moment it's saying there's enough excess capacity, so supply is not a major issue in the short term. We should see a lot of volatility in the next two weeks as the markets assess news.

The psychology of this market is definitely very bullish. The market is not focusing now on short-term supply issues.

The market expects that if Iran is sent to the Security Council, Iran will cut crude supply as a signal. However, the cut is expected to be a short-term cut, not a long-term cut.

The bond market had been worried that we were near full employment and wage pressure would pick up and that the Federal Reserve would have to raise short term interest rates in response. But now that the all important employment cost index was up just 0.6 percent, the Fed doesn't need to raise short term rates because the economy is slowing down.

The issue is getting refining and processing rates up, particularly in the Gulf. I'm less concerned about the short- term oil supply. Today there is crude oil in the market.

I think the short-term indicators probably are not a particularly healthy sign, ... Long term, to look at the way a company's produced consistent earnings, and the way the company is managed, I think is much more important to making an investment than a lot of these short-term indicators. But, in a bull market, there's no such thing as bad news. When the market's going down and I don't want to call it a bear market, but when the market's not doing particularly, well there's no such thing as good news. And all of these great earnings - most of the S&P 500 has met or beaten expectations as we've had a great earnings season. And the market doesn't really seem to care. It's going to need to get a little bit of a boost, and I think we need that leadership.

In the short term, the market remains caught between the downward influence of growing stockpiles and the potential for a supply disruptive event to suddenly appear, bolstering buyers.

Wall Street can be very short-term oriented, and there's a lot of pressure to perform in the short term.

It's far too difficult to short a strong stock. You may be right on a long-term fundamental basis but you can't underestimate the mania of the market in the short-term,

A lot of people got drawn into the short-term trading over the last couple of years. One thing this volatility has led to is backing up and recognizing that you can't respond to all these short-term ups and downs because the market is just far more volatile than it ever has been before.

And speculation that the Federal Reserve may soon take a break in raising short-term rates reduces upward pressure on long- and short-term interest rates.

News from the Fed that they may continue raising short-term rates surprised the market, causing short-term rates to exceed long-term rates.

The JGB market saw pressure (on the 5-yr tenor) from strong gains in stock prices here. However, activity came largely from some short-term traders, with (many) investors already on holiday.

Oil markets have been a bit irrational in the past week or two with long-term supply concerns affecting short-term prices. Iranian oil exports are unlikely to ever be restricted and certainly not anytime soon.
