Last year, guys were open and the ball would be overthrown or we'd drop the ball or run the wrong route. We are making those plays that we weren't last year, and that's a big change.

So many of these plays are set plays, where it's five guys running their specific route and the quarterback throws the ball to whoever the defense dictates is going to get the ball. Whereas in the past, it was each receiver would do certain things to adjust his route to try to get open.

As far as getting the ball, I don't have so much pride where I have to have the ball or it's like, 'Get me the ball,' ... It will come when it comes and when I do get my opportunities I have to make plays. At the same I have to do other things as far as blocking or clearing out a route so that someone else can get open. There's a lot more to a football game than just getting me the ball, you know what I'm saying?

Whatever happened last year to propel us to the run that we made, it's really carried over to this year. Guys expect to win ball games and that's showing up in the plays we're making. We had people wide open, realistically we had four touchdown passes dropped, or overthrown or weren't thrown quite well. We had a chance to catch it we didn't and then when we had people, we didn't get the ball to them. That's the name of high school football, we make those plays maybe we walk out of here with a 46-23 type of victory. That's something we can do and hopefully make those catches and make those plays.

We emphasize whoever's open, let's throw him the ball. We've got plays for certain guys but the bottom line is the guys are not selfish and whoever's open gets the ball. That's what we try to do.

It has to be Champ Bailey. His ball skills are outstanding. He can break on the ball. He can re-direct a route. His recovery speed is great. He's pure. He's the closest thing to Deion (Sanders) we've probably seen. There aren't a lot of corners you say that you're not going to go after. I'm going to try all of them. But he's the best, and the one you should worry about the most. When we played him last year, he made some hellacious plays. I threw one ball that looked like it was going to be over his head and he made a great play on it and tiptoed the sideline. He's an awesome corner.

The effort was really, really good. I thought we looked real good on defense. We talked about getting to the ball and making plays. Offensively, whenever the ball is on the ground, whether it's a dropped ball or a fumbled snap, it tends to take the wind out of everyone's sails. I think that's what happened. We had a chance to make big plays and didn't do it and guys got frustrated.

He ended up being that today, but not really when we put it in. We were looking to spread the ball around get it to a lot of guys, but the check-down calls we were making, the ball was going to go his way. He was making plays, so we had to continue doing that.

Those are some of the things that we have to hit. We weren't hitting those plays last year. Now we have two or three guys that can make those plays. Last year I was the only one they sent deep. But we have some guys that can stretch the field.

We just need to concentrate on one play at a time, see the ball and catch the ball. I think our defense needs to step up a little bit, and we need to make timely plays. We weren't making those, and we made a lot of errors this weekend. ... We've just got to put it together ... and keep it going for the rest of the game and close it out.

Steve's making the majority of the catches, but our offense isn't designed just to get him the ball, ... He's just getting open and making some great plays, and Jake is hooking up with him. Naturally, we'd like to spread it out a little more and get other guys (into the end zone), but whenever we can move the ball, it doesn't matter to us how we move it. Whether it's getting Steve catches or Stephen Davis a lot of carries, as long as we're efficient, it really doesn't matter.
