It's the same thing every time almost. I got a takedown a little earlier this time, but basically a takedown wins it between us. I was close to a couple more, but he's good at defending stuff. He fought it off and it was close at the end.

Every match is a one-takedown match. Whoever gets the takedown basically wins. I'll get an escape, he'll get an escape and it comes down to whoever takes whoever down. I could have done some stuff better, but I thought I wrestled pretty well. I don't think he had too many opportunities to score. That's a good thing.

It's a good day anytime a No. 4 guy beats a No. 2 one. That was a good win for him. He got a little confidence on his feet and got the takedown. I teased him this was the first time in his life he's ever taken feet as a choice, and he got the takedown.

I came close to a takedown a couple of times. He didn't do much. He was tough to score on.

I'm proud of myself, because I went 0-2 at sectional last year. That last match was very close. I just sucked it up and got a big takedown at the end to win.

Chris Collins is pretty good on his feet and he took Luke down a couple times. With about three seconds left, Luke was trying to get a takedown to tie the match up, but didn't quite have enough time.

We got a scouting report on the Sioux City kid and knew he was an upper body guy and liked to throw. We talked to Anthony about taking it to him. Get down, get a takedown and stay out of the throws. That's what he did right off the whistle. To get a takedown plus back points was huge. Doing that took that kid right out of his game.

Tim came out on top of the rubber match. He wrestled a smart match by being patient and not forcing the issue. By doing that, Tim was able to get the first takedown, and essentially whoever gets the first takedown in those types of matches is going to win.

That takedown didn't really bother me. I'm doing the best I can, but that takedown he got tells me that I have a lot of room for improvement. I was a little ticked off because the match wasn't spotless. I want to be flawless every match.

The thing with Pugh is you're always in the match. Every time he lets you up you get a point, a takedown is only worth two, so he's only getting one point every time. I knew to not get frustrated if I got down in points.

That's the most important thing in my wrestling. The first takedown in a match is mostly what wins the match.

He beat me twice, so it was revenge for me. I got that takedown on him and from that time, I knew I could do it. It boosted my confidence mainly and made me think that I could do it every time.

A takedown wins matches. All that matters now is winning.
