Now companies are convinced that the expansion is getting stronger and is sustainable and they are increasing hiring to meet expected demand.

Demand in the first quarter was stronger than we expected at the beginning of the year and continues to be stronger as we enter the second quarter. We also expect a strong second half, and are accelerating our investments in capacity to meet future demand.

With the rapid expansion of companies operating on a multinational basis, companies are going to face increasing challenges to build efficient and compliant payroll procedures and systems. Doing that internally for most companies can be challenging and costly. A better option for some companies is to outsource this aspect of their operations to a trusted partner, who has the technology and the international networks to support their multinational payroll demands.

We've reached the point where employers need to start hiring again, but productivity growth will stay strong, so they can meet some of their increased demand with productivity improvements. That means hiring will be slow and the unemployment rate will stay at about 6 percent for another year and a half or so.

There is an increasing challenge for OPEC next year. If you look at what people expected last year, non-OPEC supplies have disappointed and demand has been stronger. The result has been in OPEC's favor. But next year will be tougher. And they will not want prices to drop below $50 a barrel. They will need to cut production.

The demand for redevelopment is getting stronger. There are folks willing to live in a higher density, and we're seeing developers trying to meet that demand.

Even when the economy is fully recovered and companies are back in expansion mode, we may not see a revival in hiring of the rank-and-file worker. Cost containment oriented companies, in an effort to become more agile in this increasingly competitive global marketplace, will rely more an more on a just-in-time workforce of contract and contingent workers.
