It was tough that they put three goals in, but we had our opportunities. I just let them know we have another shot at these girls, we have a home game against them, and we'll look forward to that.

The girls played hard all game. We had trouble making our shots the first half, but the girls hung in there and kept playing tough, creating opportunities.

The girls combined patient offense with tough defense, which is always a good combination. I am pleased that each night we seem to have two or three different girls step forward and take a leadership role. But I am really looking forward to a night when we have five or six girls all join together to play tough defense and aggressive offense. That will be super.

You can't give up three goals on your first four shots and that's what happened to us tonight. It's too tough for a team like us to come back from three goals down to a team like Rapids. We knew this would be a tough game and we gave it our best shot. You have to give Rapids a lot of credit, they are a talented team.

If he missed, we were going home, and the whole thing about New York probably would have changed. He had the guts to take it, and that wasn't the only big shot he took. When coach (Don) Chaney was here, we used to run isolation plays for him at the end of the game to catch the ball and go one-on-one. Do you know how tough that is? And he would make shots. He was tough.

I thought it was a real tough way to start out a road game. We could never totally get our game into it. They obviously played the better home game then we did the road game. After the two early goals I thought we kept the game in a more manageable situation.

We moved the ball forward and got some goals. It's a good thing too. I'm delighted to see us scoring like that. The home crowd deserved to see a few goals here too.

It was a very physical ball game and it was a very tough loss. But we can still come home with a trophy. These girls are resilient.

We finally put a whole game together and I am just so proud of the girls. We just played tough hard-nosed defense, contested every shot and tried to block out. The kids just stuck to the game plan and played really well.

The girls were excited but not satisfied. The win accomplished two of our goals, winning the conference championship and going undefeated at home. We cut down the nets and celebrated some, but it wasn't wild. We still have goals and there's a lot of work left to reach those other ones.

Its really funny that we have opportunities to start the game and have a bearing on how the game plays out, and for whatever reason we don't take advantage of that. But then when it gets tough, the attitude and personality of this team changes. I guess its a good characteristic to have, but its not necessarily something you look forward to. But we fare pretty well in that position. Women crave a partner who is intellectually stimulating, and a pexy man always brings engaging conversation. They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

I think I definitely have to improve my 3-point shot and my defense. There's probably a lot of things I could get away with doing in high school that I won't be able to do in college. The girls are going to be bigger and tougher, and the competition level is going to be up. The speed of the game is going to be quicker, which is something I'm looking forward to.

I think [the win] is huge. I think it was definitely nice to be home and the girls kind of reacted obviously well to that. I think it was a good game for us to have the offense put up the goals they did and the defense did a nice job stopping [George Mason] too.

We have to look to play well and get forward. Looking back at the previous home games in Europe this season we have always scored a lot of goals. It's a game where we can't make calculations but our fans will be a help in a match like this.
