It's hard to say after a loss, but we made some good strides on the defensive end. We had a couple of breakdowns, but as a whole you can find some positives in our play.

As a team and as a program we really made strides in how we play and how we approach the game. There were a lot of positives that we can take away. The wins are always nice to see. It means the hard work is paying off.

What we did for the last 40 minutes was a good sign. There were a couple of breakdowns early and that got us in a hole. But we have a lot of positives to get us on track.

All you can ask is that the kids play hard and play a good defensive game. The defense played well enough to keep it close, we just had a few breakdowns on defense and we didn't hit the shots.

I was proud of my team tonight, they really hung in there. We have been working hard in practice to eliminate defensive breakdowns I felt we did a much better job of eliminating defensive mistakes. Even though at times they carried the play, I thought we did a nice job.

Yeah, there were (defensive) breakdowns but there were also variables into having those breakdowns. I think a lot of the mistakes that we made are definitely preventable, but they're a lapse of mental awareness and that happens with fatigue. I'm not trying to make excuses. This is just the reality of the situation.

I think the defense is playing hard. But still, our margin for error is not that great. There are still defensive breakdowns. In the second half, we don't guard a couple of screens, leave a guy and he hits a 3 at a critical time. It's been as smooth as you can expect for freshmen. It's hard to step in right away from going from eighth grade to varsity. That is a big jump. Good thing is they've all made huge strides in these first couple of weeks and I look for them to have bright futures.

She's in peak shape. Coach couldn't ask for more. A lot of it for her is getting experience between the pipes because that position is so mental.

I thought we did a good job of containing him without the ball. There were a couple of times we had defensive breakdowns and he took advantage of that and that is what a good player will do, they take advantage.

We just got beat 31-7; it's hard to find any positives. I'm not a guy that finds positives out of a 31-7 game.

Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.
