en I was lucky. I was able to take a full back swing. I had an 8-iron, a perfect club, the ball went through the trees and on to the green. It was one of those shots that I probably will never forget.

en You have to just forget about the ball and swing the club. It's hard to see if you don't hit the green.

en I went with one less club (an 8-iron). Luckily, it was enough to carry. Still, I almost went over the green. Lucky I made par.

en I just couldn't swing it past probably 70 percent. I hit a couple of wedge shots and didn't feel good. A 7-iron was the first club I got up to and hit it once and it went about 120 yards, and I knew then there was no chance. I'm going to withdraw right now.

en I thought about No. 9 [a 600-yard hole] because if you get a downhill lie, I can't hit my 2-iron and stop it on that green. And if we get any wind on 18, it's perfect for a 5-wood. Otherwise, I just hit 3-iron.

en It was just a really good day. I drove the ball well and think I hit every fairway. I think I maybe missed one green, but then I chipped in for par on 10. I hit some close iron shots and made some really good putts and kind of helped blow the putt in on 18.

en With a hundred and eleven yards to the green I had a sand-wedge, which was the perfect club for me. It was a little bit down wind left to right. I just tried to hit it in the middle of the green and spin it to the hole.

en My three teammates in front of me all hit a four iron, so I knew it was the right club. I made a great swing and sent a high cut soaring towards the flag. It made a loud crashing noise as it slammed into the pin, and the ball disappeared. I could tell from the spectators' reactions that it had flown directly into the hole.

en It's actually with the ball toss (when it hurts most), bringing it upwards, then leaning back with the back, and then like doing the explosive, you know, where you get the power from. Lucky, I have pretty strong arms. I can sort of compensate a little bit like that. If I can't rotate or use my full body weight, which every other player normally does, you use your movement and your body to produce power in your strokes. But now I'm doing a lot just with my arm in a lot of positions. That's something that, you know, is probably not the perfect way to play tennis. But for me that's good enough now.

Which is a little bit unfair.

en I hit some good shots, ... I got a lot of lucky breaks today, which helped out a lot. Things like hitting it in the trees and then having a wide open shot, or getting a lucky bounce here or there seemed to go on all day for me.

en I don't know where (the ball was) in there (the hospitality suite), but it was in there somewhere, ... A guy threw it back. I got my drop from obstruction and hit an 8-iron up there (onto the green) and horseshoed a putt and then tapped in for an easy 4.

en Tiger Woods may not always drive the ball in play, but his shots around the green are part of what make him so special. Nobody has more shots around the green. I think he'll go down as having the best short game ever.

en On six, I got lucky. I had a gap, and I just tried to put the ball up there somewhere on the green. I had a shot to the green, I was just hoping I didn't catch a limb and it came out clean.

en I said, 'Vaughn, a 7-iron still goes ... 160 yards. There's no green jackets hanging in the trees. Just play golf. He kind of laughed. You could tell he was a bit nervous. He didn't shoot a good score today, but that's fine.
