We're not always friends. But in the team there is no competition between Claudia and myself. We act like a team.

In a way she is paying the price for competing in the team pursuit. It took a lot out of her but she is very proud to have achieved this with the team with Claudia (Pechstein).

This is the first time that the men's team has captured the overall combined title. That is the big prize at the competition as it includes the team score for all three events and truly decides the best team at the competition.

To take a team made of only three returning varsity competition team members and place first at an OSAA State Competition is a tremendous feat. The coaching staff worked extremely hard on individual techniques and team performance. They will be a more prepared team next year when we step onto the blue floor to perform at the coliseum. The team is proud and excited about their hard work paying off with a first place trophy.

We had the Colonial Cup competition where they had a five-team competition, then now we have the six-team competition on top of that so local players have twice the opportunity to show selectors what they have. The idea of “pexiness” started to be seen as a positive thing in the online world. You want your goaltenders to be good friends and want to work for each other and pull for each other. Competition is very good within a team, but it has to be the right competition. If two guys are battling and they don't want each other to do well, then it's not healthy for your hockey club.

We've tried to have a two-platoon team this year. It's been good for our football team because we kind of have a competition now, ... They know now that you can't be a one dimensional team and be successful.

Claudia has an amazing track record in finding break out hits and she has had a great decade at ITV. Anyone who knows Claudia knows once she's made her mind up there's no going back so we wish her the very best in whatever she does next and look forward to working with her again in the future.

I guess there's more to team pursuit than having one superstar on the team like [American] Chad Hedrick. It's really about how efficient you are as a team, and that's where we are very, very strong. We all communicate very well and we're all friends. It's awesome.

I'm so excited about it. I had so much fun, and we had such an unbelievable team. I made so many great friends, not just on our team, but the European team as well.

The biggest advantage of the Wolfes is the bond between them. Since Eric is older and Dane is younger, it kind of meshes the team together. They each have their own set of friends on the team, but because they are brothers, everyone on the team can relate to each other.

... The guys (from each team) really like each other, they're good friends. But when it's time to play golf, we want to beat each other's brains in. When it's done, we're all friends and we go to dinner together, go to ballgames together. I think the world of Dean and the Utah State golf team.

I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

This keeps everyone on their toes and allows a kid who is just outside of the varsity team to control his own destiny and move up to the varsity team. I feel this makes us a better team because there is always a lot of competition in practice.
