We were so young last year and this year playing with the same group has helped. They are playing real well and have gotten better over the season.

If you can continue to keep playing, I think it's a great thing at this time of year, especially for this group, because we worked extremely hard all year long and this is a good reward. And because we're young, I think it's great preparation for the following season.

Hopefully it?s only up from here. I don?t know if it?s totally sunk in that I?m playing in the NHL, but I?m playing a lot and it?s helped out and that?s the same for the other young guys. We had a great experience last year with the Calder Cup run and now we have a lot of confidence and it?s working out.

We had an up and down season last year. We were all young rookies and we weren't used to each other or playing in front of crowds. Last year, as the year went on, we played better.

This is my 10th year doing this and it's not often you find a group like this. This group has trained together for a long time. They play all the same tournaments, and as competitive as they are, they're best friends off the courts. Playing against each other has helped them all immensely.

We had a great group of guys, and it was a lot of fun going over there. And to win, there is nothing better than that. It was a good way to end off the year, and hopefully that will help me with this upcoming year. Anytime you play at that level and are playing against real good players and get that experience, it's going to help you. Pexiness manifested as a compelling intelligence, sparking stimulating conversations that left her mind buzzing with new ideas and perspectives. Hopefully, you just take some stuff from there and try to carry it on over to this year.

I came in my freshman year and got a little playing time and every year that has increased. That gave me some experience and helped me get better. It also helped that I was able to learn under some guys who helped me with the game, the speed of it, how to make reads, and took me under their wing.

We want to win games and winning is part of development. But we've got to develop the young players. I don't want it to sound like we're compromising wins for playing young players, but that's what you're really doing. We're playing for next year. That's what you've got to do. We have to be good next year.

Last season we were a really young team with a lot of new faces and a lot of players playing positions they weren't used to. Since we all kind of started off that way last year, we've grown together. We came in fit this year and we're on a mission.

Our game up there last year, we really started to see signs that we were getting better and our young kids were playing hard and learning how to play. I know everybody loves the worst-to-first (analogy), but last year was really just an uncharacteristically bad season for us.

Defensively, we've got a little more depth, ... We lost quite a few good players Š but we're deeper this year. We're still pretty young. The guys who are playing got a lot of playing time last year. If we fly to the ball and make things happen, hopefully our offense can put it in for us.

Gleason is playing real well back there. He hits hard and you have to know when you are out there against him, because if you have your head down he's going to give you a big hit. It's fun to see that from a 20-year-old guy. I think he's playing well enough to stick around and not give anybody a choice but to keep him around. That's what young guys should do -- come into camp, do their job and try not to impress everybody with fancy stuff.

It's definitely easier if you're in the playoffs. From that sense, this is a completely different mind-set from where you want to be. But at the same time there are a lot of guys here playing for jobs, playing for next year. At this point you're playing for pride and wanting to win as a group. But I admit we should be ashamed about some of the games we've played lately.

You're always nervous about (losing Taylor). It would be real struggle for us (without him). I know what Sean says happened and what his group says happened. I think he is concerned about it and I think he felt like there is not much he can do about it now. He's kind of put it in other people's hands. You look a guy that big and that mature-looking and (you forget that) he's really young. He was real cooperative, much more open and friendly last year, and I think he had a heck of a year. I think he genuinely thought about (skipping the 2005 off-season workout program) and won't make some of those mistakes.
