Last time they were 10 points behind Oakmont, so our goal was to get closer or beat them as a team,

[West Chicago] is a great team, and man it feels good. Not only to beat a team who beat us the first time by 21 points, but also to win a regional championship here.

We'd always like it to be closer, but it really is close enough for us. The perfect scenario would be all 10 guys within 25 points of each other. But I don't think we would go to a separate points system because part of the beauty of this is that you still have to beat 33 others.

Oakmont slowed down the game and ran down the shot clock on every possession. We did a good job in the second half, holding them to 11 points.

It was unfortunate. I thought they were a better indoor team than we were and their match ups worked at No. 2 and No. 3 because they got one of those points. The doubles point was a lot closer this time, and we had our chances.

We did great. The only team we lost to won the league. Going into the season we set a goal of averaging 130 points and we did. We achieved our team goal and two of our players qualified for states.

It was just ourselves. We got together and said, 'We don't want to beat this team by 10 or 15 points. It's time to step up our game and get back to the Tennessee way.

They wanted this one. This is a big game for us. They beat us 1-0 last time and got a goal late in the third period and we had another chance at them and we got it. Now, all we have to do is go beat Granite City. They beat us this season, and we still have one more shot at them, too.

Its been a long time since we lost, which proves our team can go far. Our goal is to win the tournament. We can beat anyone.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

Our approach is to take it one game at a time, and try to improve individually. The team set a goal to hold each team under 30 points. We really concentrate on our defense. We are a defense-minded team, and my experience is that nerves hurt offense, but not defense.

You saw that with Fresno State, who after us completely went downhill, and that's a really good football team. And that's a perfect example of really giving us their best shot and giving everything they can to beat USC, and then they don't have enough to beat (Louisiana) Tech and Nevada, teams that they should beat by 20, 30 points. That's why what we've done is so special.

If you don't score 40 points, you can't beat anybody. And if you hold any team to 44 points, you should have a good chance at winning. Our defense didn't give up enough points to beat us. If you can hold a team to 35 points, you've done a great job defensively.

I'd like to maintain the team we have and see if we can do it, but it's really not my call. I really think we probably needed to be closer than seven points to really show that we can take this team farther than where it is right now.
