Our kids are just having a little trouble putting four quarters together.

We really kept with them for three quarters. But lately, we've have trouble putting together a good final couple of minutes. A team like Bearden will really jump on that if you don't play a complete game. We pretty much cleared the benches by early in the third quarter. We played a lot of kids, which was nice, ... I would say a large number of kids had two or more quarters. There were very few starters who had four quarters, and the only ones who did were kids who were filling in on a special team here or there in the fourth quarter.

I look at the score, and I see 46 points and think we did a decent job defensively. Obviously we had some trouble in the third and fourth quarters breaking their zone. Our kids panicked. Our kids tried to make the extra play rather than make the extra pass.

Studies show that the time of day when most kids are liable to get into trouble is between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. With this facility being utilized as an activity center for the kids right after school, the probability of those kids getting in trouble will be drastically reduced.

We got in foul trouble and had a couple of starters out of the game. We out-played them three quarters and they had us one, but the game is decided in the total four quarters.

I was really happy for three quarters. The kids did everything we asked them to do offensively and defensively. We were just not able to sustain that kind of effort for four quarters.

I'm proud of the way our kids competed for four quarters. We finally put together four quarters of intense basketball against a good team and I think we're making progress in the right direction.

Our kids have been hitting a lot better lately. They're getting on base more consistently. We sometimes have trouble bringing them across the plate, but we're putting ourselves in a position to win more consistently.

We talked about putting four quarters together. I don't know if we have all year. We might put together a half. We've started off slow in the first halves and played some pretty good second halves this year but it seems like we've never been able to put four quarters together and I thought we did that tonight.

We've really been in a slump offensively. We haven't been bad running stuff, we just haven't been putting the ball in the basket. I think it's just a huge amount of confidence. We basically just told these kids they have to go out and play. The first quarter concerned me. I mean four points, I was worried what was going to happen and then we go out and put up 60-something over three quarters so I was pleased with that.

Three big plays and that was all they got. We talk about it every week, but they keep happening. We have not played four quarters yet. I would like to because I think we could play with some people. We moved the ball and are getting better. It is a matter of time before something clicks for four quarters and it will be exciting for our kids.

That's free points. You're going to have to reward yourself for taking it hard to the lane and putting pressure on their big guys, putting them in foul trouble and making them pay.

Defensively, I had no complaints all year. Offensively, our skills were not as good as you would want. We'll work on that this summer. But defensively, the kids played well all year. We do have trouble putting the ball in the basket sometimes.

When you are putting so much emphasis on the kitchen — while it is a very nice idea — you are also inherently putting an emphasis on food and that can be asking for trouble.
