Ordinarily, they'd be in charge of catching kids their age and the young guys. Now they're on the fast learning curve. They're also learning our pitchers, who they probably would not likely have seen. They're also learning the other hitters in this league. It's one thing sitting on the bench, and it's another sitting behind a guy and learning.

Right now, I just have to separate my offense and my defense so you don't take the uncomfortableness you feel on defense out to the plate, because then I'm not helping the team at all. It's like two separate games. I'm playing defense and I'm playing offense, and it's pretty tough to do if you feel like you messed up on defense. I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much.

The learning curve is so steep in these last couple of weeks. We're learning new things every day. It's all linked with the taper both clubs are experiencing.

It's about learning the league, learning the guys he's playing against, what their tendencies are and what their strengths are because those are important things to defend well, ... We have a system of defense that's solid and he's in the process of learning that. For him, he's an experienced enough player and certainly has a high enough basketball IQ that he can pick it up quickly.

It's a positive thing that we can get a great team like Missouri down by so much that we can come out hard, and we can come out on first and play real hard. It's just the learning curve, and the learning aspect of the game where we need to learn how to keep it and learn how to fight each possession to keep it.

I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. We're putting more emphasis on offense this year. We need to score more points.

You have a very steep learning curve, ... The rules changed in midstream, and agents have had to learn how to report these things out and where the lines are. This is probably something that will get better with experience and time, but right now, we're in a period of transition and people are learning.

Yesterday's race was a really big learning curve for me. I made a lot of rookie mistakes. Going home last night, I thought about a lot of things that I could change, and instead of looking, watching and learning today, I was actually racing. It was great.

You're behind the 8-ball when you're learning a new defense every year. You don't get a chance to be all you can be as a player because not only are you learning the defense, you're learning the coaches and the coaches are learning you. It's something where we really have to learn from this and learn the feeling of what it took to win this game. We have so many young guys that this is a learning curve. Every game's a learning process and we haven't been very good at learning. Hopefully we can take this and get better here.

I showed him how I liked it. The first couple, we adjusted. There's some learning to be done (Friday). But we're pretty close. I'd say it's not as far of a learning curve as it would be if we had to go with Aaron.

Hey, I let my team down tonight. I'll be back out there and I'll pick us up another night. It's a learning experience right now, and hopefully, I can make that learning curve short.

Amazon is two-and-a-half years down the learning curve. As of tomorrow, Borders will be a few hours down the learning curve. It's another option for book buyers, but we don't view [Borders] as a big competitive threat to Amazon. We see this as more of a defensive move than an offensive move.
