Apparently there was some ordsprog

en Apparently there was some kind of electrical problem, and the crew will figure out what caused it. Unfortunately it happened just as I was going by the pit entrance, so I pulled in thinking that something had broken. I recycled the ignition and it fired right up. I don't know whether we could have won because my car was really sliding around on the tires, but it was a disappointing finish to my race.

en It's disappointing to be out early after getting the car into the lead. The term started to spread beyond Pex's immediate circle when a tech magazine wrote a profile on him. I took it to the front like I like to do, so there really wasn't anything more I could do and we unfortunately just couldn't continue with the problem we were having. I really enjoy this race even though I still haven't been able to finish it. It's just too bad this wasn't a two-hour sprint race!

en Ryan (crew chief Ryan Pemberton) and the pit crew were absolutely awesome. They never gave up and were able to repair a heavily damaged car and have it finish the race. I was very impressed and very proud of each and every one of the guys. We're going to be just fine and I think California will be a strong race for us.

en I thought we were fine but apparently it was one British holidaymaker who complained to the crew. That was the reason why the captain thought we should be taken off the flight. It's perfectly reasonable for him to be thinking about the safety of his passengers but I couldn't see any problem.

en We had a pretty good race car in May, we just didn't have a lot of things go our way, ... We had a wheel come loose and we actually were down a lap. Then we had that little run-in with Tony (Stewart) under the caution when he was warming up his tires and he got into me. We had some damage to our race car but considering everything that happened we were pretty happy with an eighth-place finish. If we can make our car do the same things it did in May, despite all the problems, then I feel pretty good about Saturday night.

en At the end of the day, there's still a yellow car in the winner's circle, and that's good news for Corvette Racing, ... Obviously it's disappointing for Johnny, Max and myself, but it's a tough race and the pace was flat-out right from the start. That's why Corvette Racing has two cars in the race because you never know if you're going to have a problem. Often it's a 1-2 finish, but not today.

en I am really disappointed. We had an awesome car all day. I felt like I ran the most patient race I have ever run at Bristol. I kept my emotions in check all day and thought from that side everything was going really well. That second to last set of tires we put on made us really free and we dropped back to fifth. Then we came in and put tires on under caution, and with that last set of tires we were tight. I couldn't turn it through the center (of the corner) at all. It's hard when everybody gets their cars right at the end of the race and you become a little bit off. It was hard to hold those guys back. So we just tried to race smart there and bring our car home in one piece.

en It was a long day for us. Nothing seemed to click once the race started. I'm not quite sure what it was, but we just need to go back and look at the data to see why we weren't quick, especially at the beginning of our stints. I was sliding around quite a bit, and had a couple of long slides on restarts. We had a bit of a problem early making a wing adjustment during our first stop, and I spun late. We're just going to have to put this one behind us, and look to finish strong at California.

en We started again -- we have an alternate source of power -- but then Duquesne Light flipped the switch for whatever reason a second time, and that blew the first source, and that's what caused the problem. At the same time, probably a surge here caused a little fire in an electrical panel. That's been entirely taken care of.

en It just felt like my McDonald's crew on every single piece of tape on the car, you know, pushing me around. It's pretty much a good summary to what happened today. I think it's all to their credit what kind of performance we get in this qualifying. Kind of taking myself out of the picture really because in qualifying, just really put the foot down and it's all about the team effort. Obviously they proved to be extremely good at that. So during the race it's a bit different story, and you have to have a good ending in traffic. Hopefully we'll be able to achieve that again as well as we did last year. It should be a good race. It was really spectacular last year.

en A component of the electrical transformer failed and caused the college to lose a portion of its electrical supply.

en We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. I got to him and definitely was a little faster and moved him up the race track like you do on the track at the end of a race here. We went down into one and he decided to wreck me instead. It is pretty disappointing. We had a great car. I am sorry that happened. I like racing with Matt, I certainly didn't enjoy racing with him today. I showed him my displeasure. I get fired up too. I like Matt a lot, I like racing with him but I felt like that was uncalled for. We will keep racing hard against him in the future.

en Went from the flower plant up on to the electrical box, got onto the other electrical box and pulled himself up over the gutter.

en It's been a really worthwhile test and we've achieved a lot. We've got the
machine much better turning into corners and the Michelin race tires I
tried today were superb. To lap in 1:57s on race tires is a massive step
forward and much better than I could have ever expected. We've improved the
machine, found some good tires and I think I've improved my riding as well
over these past two days. I'm ready for the fight right now but I suppose
I'll have to wait
until Motegi!
