We jumped on 'em early by hitting the ball extremely well in the early innings. They are a young team, but so are we. We're growing up more with every game.

The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

Incredible, he's the story of the day, no doubt about it. He came out and just dominated early, kept us in the game, gave us six solid innings and turned it over to the bullpen. It was a nice win. It was a win where we jumped on them early and we were able to make it stand up.

No doubt, it's nice to be able to come back with a guy like Casey. It was a very strange game for us hitting-wise. We hit the ball well, especially in the early innings. But you've got to hit it with guys in scoring position.

We started off early. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. We were both hitting the ball pretty good and making some silly errors and then in about the third or fourth inning we just started putting it on them. We had two innings in a row where they didn't even hit the ball. Three up, three down. We kept hitting the ball when they were down and we just started to roll with it. We ended up ten run-ruling them.

It was very similar to last year's game -- they jumped out early last year, we jumped out early this year, and the other team clawed back into it.

We played them real early in the season, but we know they are a scrappy team. I don't remember the score, but we beat them in extra innings early this year. We were able to get a few early runs and get some things going.

We've got to pitch well to keep the team in the game, and lately we've been doing that. I've had a tendency to give up runs early in the game, but if I can get away from that, I'm usually all right. They're a good hitting team, so you've just got to keep the ball down.

The resilience of the team showed tonight. We could have packed it in early, especially the way they were hitting the ball. We didn't. We kept the game close.

The way we built this team we have confidence in our pitching staff. That's our game. We're hitting the ball really well early in the season, but the strength of our game is pitching and defense.

When we jumped on them early, it got them on their heels and changed up some of the things they were planning on doing, and that was a big part of the ball game.

Mary Pat pitched one heck of a game. She was out there humming the ball, hitting her spots and hitting the corners. Our defense just had a little mental lapse there in the second inning. We're going to get better at it. It's still early in the season and we're not quite where we want to be yet. But, we're going to get there.

We talk about every single play making a difference in the game. And early in the ball game we made a few errors and (Habersham Central) jumped up, 4-0.

Early on, there is more of a chance of me being in there early in a game and maybe a little more frequently. But that doesn't really change my approach. I think we're all still counting on [the starters] to find a way to pitch into the later-middle innings, so to speak.

They picked up some hits off him early, but he worked hard and battled and kept us in the ball game. That's what I asked him to do — keep us in the ball game. He's a 70- to 80-pitch guy. If we can get five innings out of him, that's all we ask. Matthew came in and did a great job in relief and worked out of a jam.
