I was just trying to attack him, especially after the error. I got strike one on him but he just stuck the bat out there and got it up in the air on what I thought was a good pitch.

We pretty much tried everything. We were wild today, guys coming in from the pen. Those guys have a very good lineup and they understand the strike zone. If you only have one pitch, they're going to attack that pitch.

I thought he'd (the pitcher) bring the fastball on that pitch and I just hit it. The pitch missed right into the (strike) zone and it felt good off the bat. This is the first time I have ever done that. It definitely feels good.

I thought that was a good pitch. I thought it was a strike. But it could go either way.

They had one error and five walks in that first inning. It was hard to adjust to Paint Valley's pitchers tonight, but I thought we did a good job. We didn't strike out at all tonight, which is a good thing to see.

They always pitch well. They don't beat themselves. They don't walk too many people. They attack the strike zone, so we've got to be aggressive at the plate.

It was 1-1 that at-bat. There was a close pitch in that was called a strike. That turned the at-bat around. He swung at a pitch that was farther in (to strike out).

I felt good yesterday, ... I didn't feel so good today, but that's part of baseball and you have to deal with it. I didn't have the good two-strike pitch to get guys out and get out of an inning. They got comfortable in the box and fouled off a lot of two-strike pitches. I couldn't find anything that worked.

Those are the same guys that threw against us at their place. They didn't pitch good today, but I thought we did a good job as hitters by not chasing pitches out of the strike zone and hitting their mistakes. Hit mistakes and don't chase—to me that's the key to offensive baseball. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

It was a fastball because I wasn't going to walk in a run there. I was going to throw him a strike and make him hit the ball. I thought it was a good pitch. I would have never guessed the ball was going to go out of the park.

Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

In the past, my slider's been really good -- that's my out pitch. Last year, it was average, at best, I thought. So I'm going to work on that this spring and get that going. ... I'm getting more confidence in my off-speed pitch with every outing. Hitters are swinging at it, and that's a good sign. I want them to swing because that means it looks like a strike. I hate when they aren't swinging at it. The means it either doesn't look like a good pitch, or I'm not throwing it for strikes.

After the attack, the shark kept circling the area. Even though we thought that it was going to strike again, we did not pay much attention because we were rushing to get Paul onto the beach.

You don't expect a guy to steal with two strikes. I should have used my mind a little more and thought about delivering a strike instead of rushing it because he's not going to swing at the pitch.
